Clay is one of the few things that genuinely works for every age at the same time. No screens, no spectators — everyone gets their hands dirty.
A studio built for families
Family sessions at Clay & Craft are designed so that a four-year-old and a forty-year-old can sit side by side and both be completely absorbed. The clay doesn't care how old you are — it just responds to what you give it.
We run dedicated family workshops throughout the year, seasonal clay days during school holidays, and open studio sessions where families can drop in and make at their own pace. Every session is led by one of our tutors, who'll guide you through the making without taking over.

Family Clay Workshop
Every Saturday afternoon the studio opens up for families to make together. Everyone works on the same project, guided by one of our tutors. All clay and firing included.

Paint-a-Pot
Browse our shelves of bisque-fired pieces — mugs, bowls, animals, figures — and paint them together at your own pace. The finished pieces are glazed and kiln-fired, ready to collect in 2–3 weeks.

Why clay works for families
No experience needed
Every session starts from scratch. Whether it's your first time or your fiftieth, the tutor meets you where you are.
Everyone makes something real
Not a colouring sheet — an actual object, fired in a kiln, that goes home with you. Children take enormous pride in that.
Screens go away
There's something about clay that demands full attention. Families often tell us it's the first time in weeks they've all been in the same room without a phone in sight.
Inclusive by design
Our studio is fully accessible and our tutors are experienced working with children with additional learning needs. No child is left behind.
